This is Part 2 of my healing journey. If you haven’t read the beginning of my story, you can read Part 1 here → https://www.antarathejourneywithin.com/post/healing-journey-chronic-pain-anxiety
After sharing my healing journey, many people ask what actually helped me heal and what I learned along the way.
Healing wasn’t just about symptoms improving, it transformed how I understand my body, my emotions, my relationships and my life. What began as a personal journey slowly became a path of deeper awareness, compassion, and purpose.
This is what helped me heal and the lessons that continue to guide my life and work today.
What Truly Helped Me
I didn’t feel better because of a magic pill or a single treatment. Healing began when I learned to listen to my body and understand what it had been trying to communicate all along.
For years, I searched outside for answers, but true healing began when I turned inward.
Like many people, I believed I didn’t have any trauma. When I thought of trauma, I imagined abuse, accidents, or loss, not the subtle emotional experiences that quietly shape how we feel and respond to life. Over time, I began to understand that trauma can also live in the nervous system as unprocessed emotions and experiences.
The practices that supported my healing
One of the practices that deeply supported me was Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping. It helped me gently connect with my emotions, regulate my nervous system, and release patterns my body had been holding onto for years. Along with emotional awareness and learning to listen to my body, it allowed healing to unfold layer by layer with compassion and patience.
Over time, healing also looked like:
• Working through my emotions instead of pushing them away
• Processing unresolved trauma with patience and compassion
• Making my inner child feel seen, heard, and safe
• Regulating my nervous system and creating inner safety
• Working through limiting beliefs that shaped how I saw myself and the world
• Learning to feel instead of suppress
• Building a deeper connection with my body
These weren’t quick fixes, they were gentle shifts that slowly created space for healing.
Lessons I Learned Along the Way
Healing taught me more than how to feel better, it changed how I see my body and life itself.
The body is not the enemy, it is a messenger.
Suppressed emotions don’t disappear , they live in the body.
Healing begins when the nervous system feels safe.
Anxiety is not weakness, it is a signal.
Healing is not linear, it unfolds in layers.
Feeling is the doorway to freedom.
We are not meant to heal alone, healing happens in safe, supportive, non-judgmental spaces.
Healing is about coming home to yourself.
These lessons continue to guide how I live, how I care for myself, and how I support others.
How My Healing Became My Calling
My healing journey didn’t just change my health, it changed the direction of my life, opening the door to deeper healing and different modalities.
When I experienced firsthand how deeply emotions and the nervous system impact the body, I knew I couldn’t keep this understanding to myself. Even with the love and support of my family, I often felt alone and confused as I tried to understand what my body was going through, and I wanted to create a space for others navigating the same uncertainty I once felt.
What began as personal healing slowly became a calling.
Today, as a trauma-informed emotional wellness practitioner, I support individuals navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, chronic stress, and unexplained physical symptoms to reconnect with their bodies and create inner safety.
My work is not about fixing anyone, it is about creating a compassionate space where the body feels safe enough to soften.
Through emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and mind-body techniques like EFT, I help individuals release stored patterns and rebuild trust with their bodies.
Because I’ve lived this journey myself, I understand how confusing it can feel and how powerful healing can be when someone finally feels seen and supported.
Healing Is Possible
Today, my body feels like an ally instead of an enemy. I trust it, listen to it, and honor what it needs.
Healing didn’t just change my symptoms, it changed my relationship with myself, rooted in compassion, awareness, and trust.
It also brought more ease, understanding, and connection into my relationships with others.
If you are struggling with symptoms that feel confusing or overwhelming, know that you are not alone. Our bodies are not broken, they are communicating. When we learn to listen with compassion instead of fear, incredible shifts can happen.
Healing is possible, and you don’t have to walk the path alone.

✨ I’m deeply grateful to my mentor and everyone who held space for me throughout my journey. This wouldn’t have been possible without them.

It takes courage to share what you went through and pen down them in words. Sometimes what we went through might be confusing to communicate or may be feel insignificant compared to others experiences. Thank you for inspiring us and giving us the push(support) most of us require. To trust our instincts and not feel that we are wrong to feel the way we do, our body and mind is speaking to us.
Now, EFT is a stream for me to explore next.
Best wishes.
